Key takeaways

  • PGI 2018 used separate TPP and FPP results; it did not have one single winner for both perspectives.
  • The PGC winner timeline covered here begins in 2019, skips 2020 as a PGC season, then continues in 2021–2025.
  • FULL SENSE won PGC 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand.
  • Regional events, PUBG Global Series and PUBG Nations Cup have distinct champions and should not be confused with PGC.

Before the PGC era: PUBG Global Invitational 2018

The 2018 PUBG Global Invitational (PGI) was an early landmark in the PC esports scene. It separated results into third-person perspective and first-person perspective competitions. Gen.G Gold won the TPP tournament, while Oh My God won the FPP tournament, so calling one of them the only overall PGI 2018 winner loses the format distinction. For mobile-game champions, see the separate PUBG Mobile Global Championship history.

The modern PGC timeline should therefore be read separately from PGI’s split-format results. The PUBG Esports official archive includes the historical global series and the later PUBG Global Championship events.

2019: Gen.G Esports

Gen.G took the 2019 PUBG Global Championship title. The event helped establish PGC as the main end-of-year global title for PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS. Competitive PUBG is a battle royale built around survival, rotations, positioning, information and team coordination; a single winner table does not capture every strategy that shaped the season.

2021–2023: NewHappy, NAVI and Danawa

NewHappy won PGC 2021 after a month-long event in Incheon. Natus Vincere won PGC 2022 with a strong bracket run and a late grand-final push. Danawa e-sports won PGC 2023, with 17Gaming finishing second in the final leaderboard.

These teams won different editions under each season’s competitive environment. A historical article should preserve the event year rather than implying that one team’s title carries into later seasons or into PUBG Mobile/BGMI.

2024–2025: The Expendables and FULL SENSE

The Expendables won PGC 2024, a notable APAC-region result. FULL SENSE claimed the PGC 2025 crown in Bangkok, defeating a field that included Virtus.pro and Natus Vincere. PUBG’s official announcement later confirmed FULL SENSE as the 2025 champion when it announced champion-themed in-game items.

For the up-to-date history, use the official PUBG Esports archive and tournament announcements. PGC 2026 is a future event as of this article’s update date and is therefore not listed as a completed championship.

How PUBG tournaments differ

PGC is the global championship event. PUBG Global Series (PGS) events are separate international competitions; PUBG Nations Cup (PNC) fields national teams; regional series feed the season. A team's regional title, PGS win or nations-cup win is significant, but it should not be entered in a PGC winners list unless it actually won PGC.

This page covers the main PGC champions timeline, not every regional league, qualifier, invitational, mobile championship or exhibition tournament. That scoped approach makes the results easier to verify and keeps future updates manageable.
